Our Leadership

Hank VanZile founded Right-Sized View with the goal of empowering organizations that promote social change. With close to fifteen years of strategic technology experience, Hank has held senior-level positions in education, private enterprise and the social and non-profit sectors and has significant expertise with strategic planning, project management, open source web technologies and educational / e-learning software.

Hank recently completed a six-month contract with LIFT Philanthropy Partners, managing projects in the arts and literacy sectors to advance the organization's transition from 2010 Legacies Now. During that time he oversaw the development of online engagement and outreach tools for two new not-for-profit organizations, as well as the technical transition of an arts-in-education program away from 2010LN.

Prior to working with LIFT, Hank held multiple leadership positions at Royal Roads University where he spearheaded the wide scale adoption of open source communication tools and directed significant enhancements to the university's technology planning and project management infrastructures.

Hank's deep, dark past also includes positions with:

  • organizations that help kids plan for university
  • software companies that promoted privacy and safety while surfing the web
  • ISPs serving rural communities
  • Upstart Design, a boutique web design and development studio he co-founded in 1999

These days, Hank lives in his favourite city with his wonderful wife, two indifferent cats and the future Prime Minister of Canada, his three-year-old daughter. He can be found regularly on Facebook, sometimes on LinkedIn, and pretty rarely on Twitter.
